Custom Approach: Entrepreneur to Acquisition
Unlike an established fund that’s been around for years, the journey of a search fund is entrepreneurial; for most, this being the first deal of any sort. It’s unique, complex, and fast moving, but also stressful and costly if there’s a failed acquisition. There’s so much on the line. In turn, the search fund requires a great deal of time and energy, coupled with strong business skills.
At Reynolds + Rowella Accounting and Consulting, we have designed a two-stage approach built around these search fund needs:
Phase One: We work together to review the financial information of the target, and meet with the seller to obtain key business and financial data. At this point, the financial commitment is small and there is no obligation to move forward if we’re not satisfied. Once the responses are satisfactory, you decide if Phase Two is required.
Phase Two: We engage in targeted financial diligence, which culminates with a detailed report and quality of earnings report that you can present to your lenders and investors.
